How can we help? 👋

❓ What packages can candidates use in Byteboard interviews?

Our instructions to candidates direct them not to use third-party libraries. Any libraries or modules that exist as a built-in part of the language are acceptable to use in a Byteboard interview. This is primarily to prevent candidates from spending their assessment time trying to get their imports properly configured.

If a candidate does use external libraries despite being asked not to, we generally don't mark that against them, because the time spent on configuration is usually a penalty in itself. As a reminder, if you are ever curious what the instructions provided to candidates look like (candidate interview guide), you can invite yourself to take a test interview and access the Byteboard interview guide from there.

*Note — you can send as many test interviews as you’d like and they won’t count against your account’s total interviews used if they’re not fully submitted (if Part 2 isn’t submitted)
