About Assessments Tab
The assessments tab is designed to provide visibility and control into available assessments within your Byteboard account. You can add new assessments, edit existing assessments, or change status of an assessment within your account.
Before you begin

You can access the assessments tab via client.byteboard.dev/assessments. The following information is visible for each assessment within the assessments tab.

Domain | Assessment domain option; options visible via assessment overview |
Level | Options: Intern, Entry Level, Junior, Senior |
Duration | Options: Default, x1.25, x1.5, x2 |
Role Profile | Note, role profiles are not editable within the assessments tab |
Activate | Displays ‘Activate’ in column if assessment is not currently active in account |
Available Languages | Allows selection of languages available to candidate for assessment completion |
Deactivated assessment information will be greyed out in the Assessment tab and will also include an Activate link under the Activate column.
How to add an assessment
To create a new assessment:
- In your Byteboard account, click the Assessments tab.
- Click Add Assessment.
- Select the assessment Domain and click Next. Note you can choose any available assessment. Learn more about assessment offerings.
- Enter your assessment Name.
- Assessment names must be unique. We recommend using the same name as the listed open role to make it easily identifiable when sending candidate interviews via your preferred applicant tracking system.
- In the Level drop-down, select the assessment level. Note each assessment can only be associated with a single level. Learn more about assessment levels.
- Select your preferred interview Duration
- In the Available Languages drop-down, select all programming languages you’d like to add. All languages
- Click Add to save new assessment.
How to edit an assessment
To edit an existing assessment:
- In your Byteboard account, click the Assessments tab.
- In the Name column, click the name of the assessment you’d like to edit.
- Click Update when you are done editing to save assessment changes.
How to deactivate an assessment
To deactivate an existing assessment:
- In your Byteboard account, click the Assessments tab.
- In the Name column, click the name of the assessment you’d like to edit.
- Click Deactivate Assessment to disable assessment.
- Select Deactivate to confirm assessment will be disabled for future use.
How to re-activate an assessment
To activate a disabled assessment:
- In your Byteboard account, click the Assessments tab.
- In the Activate column for assessment you’d like to edit, click Activate to enable assessment. Note Activate link will disappear for active assessments.
